Recipe | Super Simple Tomato and Basil Pasta

As promised, there is a little recipe that I've been enjoying lately. I wanted to introduce some brand new content onto the blog, and what better way to share with you some of the delicious food I've been eating. This recipe is super easy and cheap, and much tastier than buying store brought pasta sauces. Plus, it's perfect for vegetarians like me!

Penne Pasta
Red Chili (Half)
Cherry Tomato's
Red Onion (Quarter)
Garlic (2 Cloves)
Olive Oil

Step 1

Firstly, heat your pan with a good glug of Olive Oil over a medium heat. Then add the diced Red Onion, chopped Chili and Garlic.

Step 2

Heat your Pasta in lighted salted boiling water.

Step 3

Slice the Tomato's in half, and add them into the pan once the Onions are translucent. Add a pinch of salt and then give it a good toss.

Step 4

Once the Tomato's have softened a bit, add either fresh Basil or use the Gourmet Garden Chopped Basil Paste. Give this a good stir, and then add a ladle of pasta water into the pan. Stir once again.

Step 5

Leave your sauce to simmer. Once your pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the pan. Then give it a good toss.

Step 6

Plate up your pasta, and if you wish, drizzle with Olive Oil and add some Parmesan Cheese. And there you have your super simple Tomato and Basil Pasta.

This can easily serve 2 people and ingredients amounts are not strict.

I haven't done any recipes on my blog before, but I thought I would try something different. So here is a super easy one for you that even I can make (and I am completely useless in the kitchen). Let me know what you think, I would love to do some more recipes in the near future :)
