Pretty Little Liars Finale Opinion: Pretty Large Disappointment
The day we have all been waiting for has finally come and gone. Six years later and we now know who A really is. Are we relieved? Maybe. Do we have all the answered we were promised? No. If you read my post on why I was worried about the Pretty Little Liars finale, you will know that I was already concerned that the episode was not going to be as fulfilling as we hoped. For me, that was the case. I'm just glad I haven't been watching it from the start. For all the people who have put up with six years of suspense, I feel sorry for you. Luckily, I binged through it earlier in the year.
As soon as A was revealed as Cece Drake I lost interest. But that only followed with more disappointment that Sara Harvey (the most annoying character is the whole show) was Red Coat and Black Widow. We all knew Sara Harvey was shady af, but did she really need to be 2 of the roles we have been waiting to be revealed to us for the whole show. We have only really known her for season 6! Seriously not happy, and I would have much rather of it have been one of the original cast members like Melissa Hastings or Jenna (what even happened to them?)
Although the whole story line of Cece actually being Allison's sister and trying to be apart of the family does make sense, I do feel let down. I was hoping that the reveal would be much more shocking. Cece Drake as A does seem like the easiest solution to 'who A really is', and it is like Marlene and the writers knew this, and by making her transgendered allowed them some leeway.
But maybe I was expecting too much? Although I obviously love the show and find it extremely enticing, the show has always had its flaws. From predictable script writing to story lines and characters being completely dropped (why does nobody ever mention Jake?), was thinking that we were going to get a really complex and shocking A reveal stupid of us? There are so many questions still left unanswered and I'm hoping they will be addressed in Season 6b. If not, I don't think I can ever trust a TV show again. I need to know how Sara Harvey became A's little sidekick, why was Bethany Young an important character, who killed Mrs Dilaurentis, and WHAT HAPPENED TO JAKE AFTER HE KICKED THOSE KNIVES.
So the finale was definitely a bit of a disappointment to me, but what did you think? Are you happy with who Big A was revealed as or would you have rather of it have been somebody else? I'm still hoping that it was actually Toby all along and Cece is just a decoy.
