Choosing the Right University for You | Ad

As you may know I have just finished University, hooray! But before I even stated University, I had to choose which one I wanted to go to. This was a tough decision, and maybe even one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. This is not just about choosing one that is high on the league tables, but one where you will generally feel comfortable and enjoy.

It can be quite a daunting task choosing where you want to study for 3 years, and it can seem very rushed and your not quite sure what your getting yourself into. I would recommended visiting the Universities before you make the final decision. This way you will be able to get a feel of the atmosphere and see if you can picture yourself studying there. When I was applying, I went to visit a few of my options and this really helped me to make the final decision, as I was able to explore the University and their cities.

It is also important that the University offers you the exact course you want to do. The website and prospectuses normally give a break down of what is taught in the course and the specific modules. This will allow you to see if the University course is suitable and beneficial to you. Visiting open days would also allow you to find out more about the course, by talking to the course leaders and lecturers.

Although starting University is very exciting, the process can be quite stressful. I particularly found it very hard to choose where I wanted to go, and would spend so much time online researching the different cities and Universities. This is why I wanted to talk about the Be Part of It campaign launched by St Mary's University, which I think is a great way to find out more about the University lifestyle and what it has to offer. The video below shows interviews from current students talking about why they chose to go to the University.
