Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots in Shooting Stars

Maybelline Color Show in Shooting Stars - £2.99

Shooting Stars is a polish from the Maybelline polka dots range. The Polish has a deep blue base with lots of different sized 'dots' in blacks, blues and whites. Although the whites do go blue when on the nails because of the base colour unfortunately. Either way, it gives a nice night sky effect for your nails!

Shooting Stars is unlike other glitters I have used because it already has a base colour, whereas over glitters just have a clear base so you are able to layer it over a colour of your choice. I'm glad I have one of these in my collection, as when I'm feeling particularly lazy or don't have a lot of time, I don't want to paint my nails with a base colour, wait for it to dry, then apply glitter. So this polish is just a quick way to get a unique effect with minimal effort. Also the polish only needs about 2 to 3 coats on your nails to get a good coverage.

I've read many mixed reviews on the Maybelline Color Show polishes, but I think they're really good, especially for a mere £2.99. They are great quality, and the glitters I've tried from the collection are equally as good as the normal colours. I also like how the glitters are also only £2.99, normally glitters are a little more pricier but this isn't the case with this range. The color show polishes are definitely ones to add to your collections.

  1. I love that colour and agree that it makes glitter nail varnish a much quicker process!

  7. I thought these glitters were just the same as all the others (eg base colour then glitter on top), but I may actually have to try these out as I love glitter!

Is it easier to get off than other glitter top coats? x

    1. These polishes and normal glitters are pretty much the same in terms of getting them off your nails. I wish someone would invent a glitter which was super easy to remove!
